I used to think bug bites were just the price you paid for enjoying summer.
Every BBQ… Every camping trip… Every evening walk...
I came home with mosquito bites, mystery bumps, red welts, andthat maddening itch that REFUSES to shut up.
And it was never "just a bite."
It was the scratching.
The swelling.
The ugly red bump that looked worse the next morning.
The2 AM ankle itchthat made me want to claw my skin off.
SometimesI scratched until the skin was raw...just trying to get a few seconds of relief.
So I did what everyone does.
I bought creams.
Then sprays.
Then roll-ons.
Then those little bite patches that promise everything and peel off the second you start sweating.
And every single time... I ended up disappointed.
The creams smelled gross. The sprays stung. The gels felt sticky. And the itch ALWAYS came crawling back.
Because once the scratch cycle starts... you are done.
You scratch because it itches. The skin gets angrier. It itches even MORE. You scratch again.
By morning, one tiny bite looks like a war zone.
And watching my daughter go through the same thing made it worse. One mosquito bite turned into an entire evening of scratching, complaining, and tears over creams that felt gross on her skin.
I was sick of it. Sick of the sticky creams. Sick of wasting money on junk that never worked.
And sick of telling myself... "Maybe this one will work."
A Late-Night Search Led Me To A Different Kind Of Bite Relief
One night, after another round of scratching and swearing, I did what we all do.
When it showed up, I did not have to wait long to test it.
We were on a camping trip that weekend. And the mosquitoes were brutal.
I got nailed on the ankle. My daughter got one on her arm.
Normally, that meant me scratching like a lunatic... and her complaining, crying, and wiping off whatever cream I tried to put on her because it was sticky and it smelled gross.
